Start with the constraint, not the equipment
Every site is different in ways that decide a project before a single piece of equipment is chosen: what fuel is available, what the customer's load profile actually looks like, what the byproducts could be worth, how fast the site has to be running. We work those out first. The technology follows.
Technology
We are not selling a box
Bison is technology-agnostic in practice, not as a slogan. We evaluate solid oxide fuel cells, reciprocating engines, linear generators and adjacent technologies on their merits for a given site, and we are willing to reach a different answer on the next one.
That has a second benefit worth naming: no project is exposed to one manufacturer's delivery schedule, cost curve or balance sheet.
How we choose
What decides it
- Fuel availability and price at the site.
- The byproduct profile, and whether there is a buyer for it nearby.
- Time to delivery, including equipment lead times that are currently measured in years.
- Capital intensity relative to the load being served.
- Permitting exposure in that jurisdiction.

Heat, carbon and water
We take a holistic approach to project design, aiming to capture value beyond the primary energy output. Heat, carbon, and water have a destination, offsetting operating costs, shortening permitting paths, and turning byproducts into additional revenue streams.
